Stamatis Kourtis

Stamatis Kourtis has a diverse work experience in the field of data science, telecommunications, and mobile communications. Stamatis started their career at Motorola as a Systems Engineer in 1997 and worked there until 2001. Stamatis then joined Three in the UK as a Simulation & Network Modelling Team Leader, where they worked until 2004. After that, Stamatis worked as a Wireless Communications Consultant at Mobistar in Belgium for a brief period from 2004 to 2005. Stamatis then became a Mobile Communications Consultant at an unspecified company from 2004 to 2011. Stamatis joined ULearn in 2007 as a Telecommunications Trainer until 2011, and then transitioned into the role of Technical Director from 2012 to 2015. Currently, they are serving as the Chief Data Officer at The Center of Applied Data Science, a position they have held since November 2015.

Stamatis Kourtis completed their education at several prestigious institutions. Stamatis first pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Physics at Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon from 1990 to 1995. Following this, they attended the University of Surrey, where they acquired an MSc in Mobile Communications from 1996 to 1997. Building upon their previous studies, they continued at the University of Surrey and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mobile Communications from 1998 to 2002. Finally, they pursued an MBA from the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School between 2004 and 2007, further expanding their academic qualifications.
