Övünç Okyay has a diverse range of work experience in various industries. Övünç started their career as an Associate at McKinsey & Company in 2006, where they worked until 2008. Subsequently, they joined Morgan Stanley as an Equity Research Associate from 2010 to 2011.

In 2011, Övünç became an Advisor and later a Senior Associate at The Carlyle Group's Carlyle MENA Partners fund, focusing on mid-market growth investments in healthcare, education, and retail sectors. During their time with The Carlyle Group, they were involved in investments such as Medical Park.

In 2015, Övünç co-founded and served as the Vice President of IIG Istanbul Investment Group, an independent private equity firm that invests in mid-market growth and buyout opportunities in Turkey.

Following that, from 2003 to 2006, they enrolled at Technische Universität Berlin and completed their Master's degree in Production Engineering. Övünç furthered their education by attending Columbia Business School from 2009 to 2010, where they obtained their Master's in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Finance and Private Equity.
