Leonardo Leao

Leonardo Leao has extensive work experience in the finance and development sectors. Leonardo currently holds the position of Principal Executive at CAF - Banco de Desenvolvimento de América Latina, where they are responsible for developing and managing local currency businesses in South American countries. Leonardo also manages relationships with financial partners in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia for co-financing, refinancing, and technical assistance. Leonardo is skilled in structuring and managing market analysis reports.

Prior to this, Leonardo worked at BDMG - Banco de Desenvolvimento de Minas Gerais, where they held various roles. Leonardo served as the Head of Treasury, Fundraising, and Investor Relations, overseeing the Financial Department, Treasury, Fundraising, Investor Relations, Liability, and Cash Management. Leonardo led a team of 25 professionals with diverse backgrounds and managed a budget of R$1 billion. Leonardo also worked as a Treasury Manager, responsible for a R$1.2 billion fixed income securities budget and managing relationships with local and international investors, rating agencies, the Central Bank of Brazil, and other regulatory bodies. Leonardo also held positions as a Division Manager and Development Analyst during their time at BDMG.

Leonardo's earlier experience includes working at V&M do Brasil S/A as a Controller/Coordinator. In this role, they were responsible for budget planning and controlling of a business unit with an annual budget of R$1 billion. Additionally, they facilitated strategic planning and investment monitoring and coordinated a Continuous Improvement Program involving the participation of 1,000 employees.

Leonardo Leao has a Master's degree in Administration, which they obtained from Fundação Pedro Leopoldo between 2010 and 2012. Prior to that, they completed a post-Graduation in Controlling and Finance at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in 2003. Leonardo also holds a graduation degree in Economics from Centro Universitário Newton Paiva, which they completed between 1997 and 2002. In addition, they have obtained the CPA-20 ANBIMA certification from ANBIMA in September 2013.
