Ranita Seecharan has extensive experience in the field of economics, currently serving as Principal Economist in Macroeconomic Studies at CAF - banco de desarrollo de América Latina y el Caribe since April 2025. Previously, Ranita worked as Group Economist for Caribbean Banking at RBC from 2017 to April 2025, and as a Researcher/Economist at the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago for a brief period in 2017. Academic contributions include a role as Lecturer/Tutor (PT) at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus from 2012 to 2015. Ranita holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics and a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Accounting from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, obtained in 2017 and 2011, respectively.
