Michael Hooper, MA, ALC, currently serves as a Rural SBHC Counselor at Cahaba Medical Care and a Mental Health Counselor at We SAGE Health and Wellness. Additionally, Michael holds the position of Clinical Therapist at Brookwood Baptist Health, where treatment plans for patients are customized and reviewed regularly. Previous roles include providing outpatient psychiatric services at Indian Rivers Behavioral Health, functioning as a Licensed Mental Health Professional at Quality Correctional Health Care, and working as a Behavioral Health Associate at Children's of Alabama. Michael has experience as an In-Home Clinical Team Leader with Jbs Mental Health Authority, a therapist with the Alabama Department of Youth Services, and a counseling intern at Tuscaloosa City Schools. Michael’s career began as Program Manager at Glenwood Autism and Behavioral Health Center, with a strong educational background, holding a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling and a Master of Science in Continuing Education, both complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

Cahaba Medical Care is a Community Health Center (FQHC), accredited as a Patient-centered Medical Home (PCMH) by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and Joint Commission. We currently have ten sites in Central Alabama serving Bibb, Perry, Chilton, Dallas, Autauga and Jefferson Counties. Our health centers provide comprehensive primary care services, including treatment and management of chronic and acute diseases; preventative care and cancer screenings; pediatric care; women’s health services; prenatal care and obstetrics; dermatological services; geriatrics; sports medicine services; mental healthcare; dental services and much more. Cahaba Medical Care provides high-quality health services regardless of a patient’s ability to pay by offering a discounted, sliding fee schedule based on income and family size. While this has been the mission of the clinic since its founding, our capabilities have continued to develop and grow through our designation as a nonprofit, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). As an FQHC, we are stewards of annual federal funding that allows us to enhance our services to those without insurance and to those facing hardship - whether medical, social, financial or emotional.
