Angel Estrada

Project Manager at CAI

Angel Estrada has extensive experience in project management and commissioning and qualification (C&Q) in the pharmaceutical industry. Angel started their career in 2012 as a Facilities, Utilities, and Equipment Engineer at McNeil Consumer Healthcare, where they provided services for validation, C&Q, and construction activities. Angel then worked as a Validation Engineer at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, developing commissioning protocols and supporting commissioning activities for various systems. In 2013, they joined Eli Lilly and Company as a C&Q Lead, Project Manager, and Client Manager, leading and delivering C&Q activities for multiple projects at Lilly Del Caribe. Angel also developed commissioning and decommissioning master plans, defined C&Q metrics, and supported customer interactions.

From 2016 to 2017, Angel worked as a Validation Engineer at Patheon, focusing on C&Q activities for different machines. Angel then joined CAI Confidential Client as a Senior Commissioning Engineer, where they conducted functional performance tests for various electrical equipment. In 2018, they joined Genentech as a Genentech HIT - Process Equipment - C&Q Lead, leading C&Q activities for multiple equipment and developing qualification protocols. Angel later became a Genentech HTO - C&Q Lead/PM, managing the C&Q phase activities for various equipment and utilities.

In 2022, Angel joined Lonza as a C&Q Manager/Project Manager, overseeing all C&Q activities for several systems. Angel developed budget estimates and ensured the successful completion of the C&Q phase. Angel is currently working at AbCellera as a Project Manager, providing support for commissioning and qualification activities for both drug substance and drug product areas.

Angel's work experience also includes serving as an Infantry Soldier in the US Army from 2004 to 2017. Throughout their career, Angel has demonstrated expertise in C&Q, project management, customer interaction, and developing qualification protocols.

Angel Estrada obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Puerto Rico, where they studied from 1992 to 1997. Prior to that, they pursued an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Universidad de Puerto Rico, completing their studies from 1989 to 1992. Angel Estrada also holds a high school diploma from Colegio Adianez, which they earned before 1989.
