Ben Ward

Ben Ward has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Ben currently works as a Staff Software Engineer at Caire. In 2020, they founded Knitware, a product development consultancy, and worked as a Freelance Software & Product Developer until December 2022. Ben also worked at Google as a Data Privacy Analyst from February to May 2021, where they helped integrate Fitbit into the company. Prior to that, they worked at Fitbit as a Data Privacy Analyst from February 2020 to February 2021 and as a Product Manager from December 2018 to February 2020. At Fitbit, they led efforts to ensure compliance with privacy regulations and led a team in building privacy and data-management tools. Before Fitbit, Ben worked at Twitter as a Product Manager from January 2016 to December 2017 and as a Staff Software Engineer from November 2010 to March 2016. At Twitter, they developed various features and platforms including embedded Tweets, Twitter Cards, and the OAuth API user experience. Ben's earlier experiences include working at Yahoo as a Web Applications Engineer from April 2007 to August 2008 and from August 2008 to November 2010. At Yahoo, they worked on social apps for Fire Eagle and contributed to the design of OAuth.

Ben Ward attended The University of Manchester from 2002 to 2006, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computation.
