Laila Sobhy

Laila Sobhy is an experienced educator with a strong background in mathematics and educational leadership. Currently serving as the KS3 Maths Lead, Head of Year, and Maths Teacher at Cairo English School since August 2019, Laila also has experience teaching IB and IGCSE Math for Years 7, 8, and 9. Prior roles include Assistant Headteacher for Pastoral Care at ISYS Solutions, Inc., where collection activities were managed, and finance positions at Center Street Lending, and Capital International Schools as Head of Math Department and Senior Safeguarding Officer. Laila has demonstrated leadership as Deputy Head KS4, and Head of Department at EBIS, and Math Department Chair at Integrated Thebes American College. An alumna of UC Irvine and The American University in Cairo, Laila holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering and a Diploma in Educational Leadership and Administration, along with various certifications in child protection and mathematics accreditation.
