Gabriel Bastien

Gabriel Bastien is a seasoned professional in infrastructure financing and financial law, currently serving as Director at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) since August 2020, after progressing from Senior Associate. Prior experience includes over eight years as an Associate at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, with a focus on financial services, project finance, acquisition finance, asset-based finance, and securitization. Gabriel's legal journey began with an articling student position at CDPQ and included roles as a Student-at-law at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP and a Research Assistant at McGill University. Gabriel holds a B.Com in Finance from McGill University’s Desautels Faculty of Management and a B.C.L. & LL.B. from McGill University's Faculty of Law, as well as the Barreau du Québec from École du Barreau.
