Jorge González

Vice President at Cake Development Corporation

Jorge González has worked in the software development industry since 2002. Jorge began their career as a Software Engineer at INAD, where they worked on web applications for different sectors. In 2002, they also began a Becario position at Telefónica I+D, where they worked on systems based on intelligent agents and natural dialogue applications. In 2005, they became the CTO at One Planet Tech, where they developed the Adorahotels booking engine using CakePHP, as well as the Hotel Paradise Park website and online marketing strategy. In 2010, they became the CEO of Conectatec, where they focused on optimizing the hotel's direct sales channel and web development for hotels. In 2012, they joined Cake Development Corporation as the Vice President and CakePHP Project Manager and Developer, working on several different projects and focusing on CakePHP projects for clients. In 2013, they joined Cake Software Foundation, Inc. as a Trainer, and has since been an instructor for Cakefest from 2013-2022. Jorge has also been a Course Instructor at Universidad de La Laguna since 2012, where they run a 10-hour workshop twice a year to introduce the CakePHP framework to students.

Jorge González attended Universidad Complutense de Madrid from 1995 to 2002, where they earned an Ingeniero en Informática degree. In 2009, they attended Universidad de La Laguna, where they earned an Agente - Programa de Gestores de la Innovación degree in the field of Gestión de la Innovación. Jorge also attended Escuela de negocios online Cajacanarias in 2009, where they completed a Curso online de liderazgo.
