Cal Performances
Joselen X. Contreras is a dedicated and dynamic student currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health and a minor in Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley. As a Student Observer for the UC Regents' Health Services Committee, Joselen contributes valuable student perspectives on healthcare decisions impacting the UC system. Joselen also participates in several leadership and advocacy programs, including the Management Leadership for Tomorrow Ascend Scholar program, the Aspire Leaders Program, and the Latinxs and the Environment Initiative. Roles at the Associated Students of the University of California, Institute of Governmental Studies, and other organizations showcase Joselen's commitment to equity, community leadership, and policy development. Experiences further include supporting environmental research, conducting political research, and engaging with political leaders to address community issues.

Cal Performances
Cal Performances is the performing arts presenting, commissioning and producing organization based at the University of California, Berkeley. The origins of Cal Performances date from 1906, when stage actress Sarah Bernhardt appeared at the William Randolph Hearst Greek Theater to help rebuild public morale after the devastating San Francisco earthquake and fire in April of that year. Over the subsequent century, Cal Performances grew to become the largest, multi-discipline performing arts presenter in Northern California, and one of the largest university-based arts presenters in the United States. The mission of Cal Performances is to produce and present performances of the highest artistic quality, enhanced by programs that explore compelling intersections of education and the performing arts.
