Grey Hayes is a highly experienced Restoration Ecologist and educator with a diverse background in ecological consulting, research, and land management. Serving as a Restoration Ecologist at Grey Hayes, Ecological Consulting since January 2000, Grey also coordinates education and research activities at Cal Poly Corporation's Swanton Pacific Ranch since June 2017. As a long-time lecturer in the Environmental Studies Department at UC Santa Cruz, Grey teaches an upper division seminar on Protected Lands Management and has collaborated with Dr. Karen Holl on ecological research concerning California coastal prairie vegetation. Grey's extensive roles include stewardship of natural reserves, co-ownership and management of Molino Creek Farm, and contributions as the Director of Coastal Training at the Elkhorn Slough Foundation from 2002 to 2017. Grey's educational credentials include a PhD and MA in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, alongside a BA in the same field.
