Cal Poly Partners
Kai Gottschalk is currently a Video Production Intern at Cal Poly Partners, recording and producing videos of on-campus events since October 2022. In addition, Kai serves as a Live Sound Engineer and Architect for Amador Friends of Music, focusing on system design and technical integration of audio systems while also working as a live sound technician. Since September 2018, Kai has held the position of Advisor and VP/Electrical Lead at AmadorUAVs. A Research Intern at the University of California, Davis from July to September 2024, Kai's work involves fiber photometry research, particularly in developing electrical and optical systems for calcium imaging. Previous experience includes a role as a Team Associate at Walmart and an Independent Contractor designing flex PCBs for Polybiomics Inc. Kai is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, expected to graduate in 2026, after graduating from Amador Valley High School in 2022.

Cal Poly Partners is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is one of 90 auxiliaries within the California State University system. In this capacity, the cal Poly Partners helps Cal Poly retain earnings, lessen risks, make investments, sell assets and hire employees. And we do all of this to help Cal Poly continually evolve as the world-class educational experience that it has come to be known. The corporation is 100 percent self-supporting and receives no state funding. Operating costs are covered by administrative fees charged to units the corporation supports.
