Lead Engineer at Caldera

Ranulf Slee is an experienced engineer with a diverse background in research and development. Their most recent role is as the Lead Engineer at Caldera Heat Batteries Ltd, where they are involved in the development of a Zero Carbon Boiler for homes. This innovative system uses a 100 kWh Warmstone™ heat battery that can be charged with low cost, low carbon electricity and provide efficient heating for a 24-hour period in winter. Prior to this, Ranulf served as a Director at Vine Technology Ltd and as a Research Associate at Newcastle University. Ranulf also worked as a Senior Test Engineer at Isentropic and as a Principal Engineer at Ceres Power. Earlier in their career, Ranulf held research positions at QinetiQ, ICI/DuPont Automotive Coatings, and GEC Hirst Research. With over two decades of experience in the field, Ranulf brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to their work in engineering and research.

Ranulf Slee pursued their undergraduate education from 1991 to 1994 at The University of Manchester. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with a focus on Chemistry.
