Andrew Wright

Andrew was appointed as a governor on 23 April 2020 having previously served as a Co-opted Governor on the Finance and Resources Committee for a number of years.

He came to West Yorkshire 7 years ago after an international career leading businesses in Europe China and India. Until 2019 he was Managing Director of Huddersfield high tech engineering company, Reliance Precision. He is now chairman of AW Hainsworth and Sons, a 240 year old Family owned textile business based in Pudsey.

Andrew sits on the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership panel, chairing the Innovation and Growth committee. He enjoys cycling the hills and singing in the Huddersfield Choral Society. Andrew is a member of the Finance & Resources and Curriculum, Quality & Standards Committees.
