Mercy Canja has several years of experience in accounting, working for organizations such as Calgary Homeless Foundation, RESET Society of Calgary, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Heart & Stroke Foundation, and Sagesse. They have a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce with a major in Management Accounting and are currently pursuing further education at the CPA Western School of Business. Their responsibilities have included financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, account reconciliation, and implementing accounting policies and procedures.

The Calgary Homeless Foundation (CHF) is a registered charity that exists to end homelessness in our city. Through systems-level leadership and mobilization of collective impact, CHF is a catalyst of transformation for systems and service agencies to optimize client success. CHF focuses on four spheres of influence: Research and Data, Community Mobilization, Funder of Outcomes and Impact, and Public and Political Will.
