Phillip Chan currently serves as an Assessment and Tax Assistant at the City of Calgary, where responsibilities include utilizing data management software for property data maintenance and conducting inquiries to ensure regulatory compliance. At the Calgary Municipal Land Corporation, Phillip coordinates city-wide activations and events while enhancing marketing strategies through data analysis, also promoting community engagement in the East Village and Culture and Entertainment District. Previous experience includes roles as a Summer Program Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator at the Calgary Chinese Community Service Association, focusing on event management and administrative operations. Phillip holds a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies/Affairs from the University of Calgary.

WHO WE ARE Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC) is a passionate team of urban placemakers; we are city-builders devoted to making Calgary a better place to live. HISTORY CMLC was incorporated in 2007 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of Calgary with the mandate to achieve the City's objectives for urban densification and community renewal, infrastructure investment and placemaking – both within and outside the Rivers District. WHAT WE DO Over the past decade, CMLC has rebuilt East Village from the ground up. Through public infrastructure improvements, strategic placemaking and enthusiastic programming, we have breathed new life into downtown Calgary’s east end. With East Village standing proudly as a testament to our talents in visioning, redevelopment, placemaking, programming and relationship-building, we’ve extended our efforts into the further reaches of the Rivers District. We have now turned our attention to creating a vision for east Victoria Park through the Rivers District Master Plan.
