Sarah Meilleur has extensive work experience in the library sector. Sarah began their career in 2005 at the Calgary Public Library, where they held various roles including Chief Executive Officer, Interim CEO, Director of Service Delivery, Director of Service Design, Manager of Service Planning, Manager of Information Services, Customer Service Manager, Adult Services Librarian, and Children's Services Librarian. In 2019, they worked as a Library Design Consultant at Charlotte Mecklenburg Library.

Sarah Meilleur obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature, General from the University of Calgary between 1998 and 2001. Sarah later pursued a Master of Library and Information Science degree at Western University from 2004 to 2005. Additionally, Sarah has earned several certifications including 4 Seasons of Reconciliation from First Nations University of Canada and Diversity and Inclusion Fundamentals and Unconscious Bias Professional Learning from the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI) in 2020. Sarah also completed the Workplace Mental Health Leadership Certificate program at Queen's University and the Leading for Creativity certification from IDEO in 2017.
