Jim Laurendeau

Executive Vice President, Park Development & Operations at The Calgary Stampede

Jim Laurendeau has over 24 years of work experience, starting in 1997 as a Music Teacher for the Calgary Catholic School District. In 1999, they joined The Calgary Stampede and held various roles including Director of Bands, Community Programs Manager, Stampede Marketing Manager, and Stampede Programming Manager. In 2007, they became the Sales Development Manager and later advanced to Senior Manager, Programming. From 2011 to 2013, they served as Director of Programming, and then as Director of Park & Facility Services from 2013 to 2015. Jim took on the role of Vice President of Events and Park Services from 2015 to 2017, followed by Vice President of Park Planning and Development from 2017 to 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Park Development & Operations at The Calgary Stampede.

Jim Laurendeau obtained a Bachelor of Music in Secondary Music Education from the University of Calgary between 1990 and 1996. In 2008, they completed a Sales Management Course at Queen's University. Jim also attended The Banff Centre in 2006 for a course in Leading Strategically. Currently, Jim is enrolled in the Executive Program in Organizational Leadership at the Ivey Business School at Western University, to be completed in 2023. Additionally, they hold a certification in the Ivey Executive Program from The Ivey Academy at Ivey Business School.
