Claudia L. Mercado has had a varied and successful career. Claudia L. began their professional experience in 2004 as a Sales Associate at AT&T. In 2007, they were an Assistant Product Manager at JJ Buckley Fine Wines and a Student Intern at Morgan Stanley. In 2008, they became an Internet Sales Manager at LLOYD A. WISE MOTORS, INC. Claudia L. then moved to QPay, Inc in 2009 as a Regional Account Executive. In 2012, they were a Business Specialist and Senior Account Executive at Rocket Lawyer, Inc and a Board Member at the Osteopathic Medical Board of California, where they were appointed by the California Senate Rules Committee for four consecutive terms and chaired the OMBC Guidelines for the recommendation of Cannabis for Medical Purposes committee. In 2016, they co-founded Aztecali, which was recognized by Chronicle Eats and Best of the East Bay 2016: Food & Drink Writers' Picks. Finally, in 2017, they became the Founder and CEO of CALIBUENO.

Claudia L. Mercado obtained their High School Diploma from Urban School of San Francisco in 2002. Claudia L. then attended Mills College, where they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political, Legal, & Economic Analysis in 2006. Following this, they earned their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the Lorry I. Lokey Graduate School of Business at Mills College in 2007. In 2017, they were a Fellow at the Latino Board Leadership Acedemy, hosted by the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley. In 2012, they were part of the Hispana Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) The HOPE Leadership Institute (HLI). In 2019, they completed the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative-Education: Scaling program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
