Shifu Yuan

Shifu Yuan has over 25 years of work experience in the optical technology field. Shifu started their career in 1994 as a Post-Doctor at Tsinghua University and a Postdoc (Associate Professor) at Tsinghua University's Department of Precision Instruments. In 1996, they became a Senior Research Scientist at the University of Central Florida. In 1998, they began working as an Electro-optic Engineer at Chorum Technologies Inc. In 1999, they were a Senior Research Scientist at Corning Incorporated. From 2000 to 2003, they held the roles of Chief Technology Officer, Optical Technology, Director of Optical Engineering, and Senior Optical Engineer at Calient Technologies Inc. Finally, in 2003, they became the Optical Engineering Manager at Transparent Networks.

Shifu Yuan began their educational journey in 1991 when they attended the Harbin Institute of Technology and earned their Ph. D. in Optics. After graduating in 1994, they continued their education at the University of Central Florida, where they obtained a PostDoc in Fiber Optics between 1996 and 1998.
