Joseph Michelsen

Joseph Michelsen has extensive work experience in finance and accounting. Joseph is currently the Vice President, Controller at Califia Farms since December 2020. Previously, Joseph held the role of VP of Finance, Corporate Controller at Quest Nutrition from July 2017 to December 2020, where they played a key role in the company's acquisition by The Simply Good Foods Company. Prior to that, Joseph worked at The Honest Company, starting as the Director of Financial Reporting from May 2014 to July 2015, then progressing to roles such as Director, Corporate Accounting and Assistant Controller, and finally serving as the Sr. Director, Corporate Accounting and Assistant Controller from January 2017 to June 2017. Before joining The Honest Company, Joseph worked at Ernst & Young for over 15 years, starting as a Manager in June 2004 and ultimately serving as a Senior Manager until May 2014. During their time at Ernst & Young, Joseph gained extensive experience in financial statement audits and reviews, SEC document review, and resolution of complex technical issues. Joseph also supervised other team members and maintained close coordination with clients, including CFOs, VPs, and Controllers.

Joseph Michelsen attended Concordia University-Portland from 1995 to 1999, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, Accounting and Financial Management. Joseph also obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the same university during the same time period. Additionally, Joseph holds a CPA certification from the California Board of Accountancy, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
