Amber Mace

Amber Mace currently serves as the Managing Director and Chief Strategy Officer at the California Academy of Sciences. Mace has extensive leadership experience, previously holding the position of Chief Executive Officer at the California Council on Science and Technology from 2013 to 2023, after serving as Executive Director and Deputy Director at the same organization. Mace also played a significant role at the University of California, Davis Policy Institute for Energy, Environment and the Economy as Deputy Director and Associate Director, contributing to advancing energy and environmental policies. In addition to chairing the National Sea Grant Advisory Board from 2013 to 2022, Mace has held several key roles with the California Ocean Protection Council, including Executive Director and lead scientist. Mace's academic credentials include a PhD in Marine Ecology from the University of California, Davis, and an MBA from The Wharton School.
