Tracy Ward currently serves as the Associate Provost for Administration at California Baptist University. Tracy has held this position since December 2008. Prior to their current role, Tracy served as the Director of Student Retention at CBU from July 2000 to December 2008. In this role, they were responsible for implementing an online social network to introduce new students to one another and help them transition to the academic and campus life at CBU. Tracy also developed an Early-Alert, Early-Intervention tracking program for at-risk students and created a Nursing Learning Community program for pre-nursing students. Additionally, Tracy served as the Ombudsman for students to navigate institutional processes and policies at CBU. Tracy also taught an Academic Success Seminar for at-risk students and instituted Academic programming in New Student Orientation. Tracy has also served on WASC capacity preparedness review committee.
Before their time at CBU, Tracy was the Assistant to the Registrar at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary from March 1997 to July 1999.
Tracy Ward has dedicated their career to helping students succeed in their academic endeavors. Tracy is an advocate for at-risk students and has implemented various programs and initiatives to help them succeed both inside and outside of the classroom. Tracy's dedication to their work and their passion for education make their an invaluable asset to California Baptist University.
Tracy Ward holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Claremont Graduate University, an M.Ed. in College Student Affairs from Azusa Pacific University, and an M.Div. from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. Tracy also holds a B.S. in Deaf Education from Stephen F. Austin State University.
