Jared Austin

Jared Austin is a seasoned educational leader with extensive experience in various roles within the charter school sector. Currently serving as a Board Member at CharterSAFE since June 2023, Jared co-founded and has been the Executive Director of Kairos Public Schools since September 2013, overseeing a TK-12th grade charter school. Additionally, Jared is an Innovative Leadership Instructor at Touro College, a Member Council Representative for the California Charter Schools Association, and served as a Commissioner on the Advisory Commission on Charter Schools under the California Department of Education from December 2017 to January 2023. Previous roles include Middle School Principal at Natomas Charter School, Coordinator of Student Services at Elise P. Buckingham Charter Magnet High School, and Teacher at Vacaville Unified School District. Jared holds a Master's degree in Education Leadership and Technology from Touro University and a degree in Media Communications from California State University-Sacramento.
