Joseph R. Williams works as a Public Affairs Manager at Southern California Edison, is a governor's appointee to the California Workforce Development Board and is an elected member of the San Bernardino Community College Board of Trustees. Additionally, he is the founder and board president of Youth Action Project (YAP), a non-profit organization dedicated to preparing youth and young adults with the skills and habits needed for economic and social success. Before founding YAP, Williams served the County of San Bernardino for nine years, working in behavioral health, workforce development and sheriff's departments.
Williams is an alumnus of Crafton Hills College and San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC), where he served as the SBVC 2005-2006 Student Trustee. He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Redlands and a master's degree in social impact from Claremont Lincoln University. Williams is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and visited India as a Group Study Exchange (GSE) member for Rotary International.
