Monica Salais is a highly experienced water resources engineer with a strong background in sustainable groundwater management and regional water management initiatives. Currently serving as the Supervising Water Resources Engineer at the California Department of Water Resources since January 2017, Monica previously held the role of Senior Water Resources Engineer in the Division of Integrated Regional Water Management. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Water Resources Engineer at the Central Valley Flood Protection Board and as a Water Resources Engineer at the California Department of Water Resources, where Monica managed significant grants related to Proposition 84 and Proposition 1E. Earlier career roles include Staff Engineer II at Peterson Brustad Inc., where Monica focused on design and construction management services, and a Structural Engineer Student Intern at Howard & Van Sande. Monica holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
