Mark Farouk

Legislative Advocate at California Hospital Association

Mark Farouk serves as a Legislative Advocate and Vice President of State Advocacy at the California Hospital Association since May 2022. Prior to this role, Mark Farouk was the Chief of Staff for Assembly Majority Leader Eloise Reyes from December 2016 to May 2022, managing the legislative agenda, communications strategy, and budget process, while leading a policy portfolio in finTech, payments technology, and financial services. Mark Farouk also held the position of Chief Consultant for the California State Assembly's Banking and Finance Committee from January 2005 to December 2016, where counsel was provided on policy research and strategic advice, particularly in relation to virtual currency and mobile payments technology. Earlier career experiences include serving as a Legislative Aide and Consultant at the California State Assembly from February 2001 to January 2005. Mark Farouk earned an M.A. in Government and a B.A. in Government from California State University-Sacramento, completing the degrees in 2010 and 2001, respectively.
