Jena Alsup

Undergraduate Researcher, Zernicka-goetz Lab

Jena Alsup is an undergraduate researcher at Caltech's Zernicka-Goetz Lab, focusing on characterizing gastrulation in human embryos through advanced techniques in 3D image segmentation and fluid dynamics. In addition to research roles, Jena serves as a teaching assistant for multiple computer science courses, including Introduction to Programming and Data Structures. Experience includes the creation of a database for energy industry communications at the Alvarez Lab, internships at various technology companies such as Apple and Exa, and contributions as an AI Policy Research Fellow with the Paragon Policy Fellowship. Jena is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Caltech, complemented by prior education at Homestead High School and De Anza College, alongside an upcoming term at the University of Cambridge.
