Director Of Events at California Institute of the Arts

Abigail Salling has a diverse range of work experience. Abigail started their career as a Stage Manager at Roustabout Theater Inc, where they managed productions such as Thoroughly Modern Millie and White Christmas. Abigail then worked as a Crew Member at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts, participating in event set-up and maintenance. Abigail also interned for Gavin Newsom's gubernatorial campaign, assisting with phone calls and organizing campaign materials. Later, they became an Arts Management Fellow at Arts in a Changing America, where they helped curate and execute events and conducted artist research. Abigail also worked as a Student Activities Ambassador at the California Institute of the Arts, planning and executing student affairs activities. Abigail later joined the J. Paul Getty Trust as an Educational Consultant, facilitating various workshops until the COVID-19 pandemic affected their role. Abigail then returned to the California Institute of the Arts as an Assistant to the Office of the President, maintaining calendars and organizing events. Abigail subsequently served as the Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of the President, coordinating meetings and managing the office. Currently, Abigail holds the position of Director of Events at the California Institute of the Arts, overseeing event planning and execution with a focus on maintaining high standards of excellence.

Abigail Salling earned their Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in Theater Management from the California Institute of the Arts between 2014 and 2018. Prior to that, they obtained their High School Diploma from Cardinal Newman High School from 2010 to 2014.
