Alam Khan

Alam Khan is a highly skilled music teacher with extensive experience in Indian classical music. Since August 2014, Alam has been teaching Indian classical ensemble at California Jazz Conservatory. Simultaneously, Alam has been a dedicated teacher at Ali Akbar College of Music since June 2009, drawing on a rich lineage as the son of the renowned Sarode Maestro Ali Akbar Khan. Trained in the Maihar Seni Gharana from a young age, Alam has been passionate about imparting knowledge and fostering appreciation for music through both beginner and advanced instrumental classes.

The California Jazz Conservatory is a private music school in Berkeley, California. It is the only independent music conservatory in the United States devoted solely to jazz and related styles of music. Located in the Downtown Berkeley Arts District, the CJC offers Associate’s, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Jazz Studies. The Conservatory also offers community education classes and workshops for instrumentalists and vocalists and precollege youth programs for beginning, intermediate and advanced musicians.
