Mike Guerra

Mike Guerra serves as President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the CLS Board of Directors. CLS is the state’s largest and most influential trade association representing California’s life sciences industry. As President and CEO of CLS, Mike’s mission is to advance California’s leadership as the world-leading life sciences innovation ecosystem by advocating for effective national, state, and local public policies and supporting entrepreneurs and life sciences businesses. Mike is a seasoned business leader with extensive experience within the California life sciences community. He has held senior leadership positions with VWR International, a leading global distributor and manufacturer of products to the life sciences industry for over a decade. His last role at VWR was Vice President of Sales for the Western Region of the United States with responsibility for companies in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, industrial, and production businesses. Prior to joining CLS, Mike held the position of Vice President of the Americas for Avidity Science, a worldwide leader in water purification systems and laboratory equipment. While there, he helped build and lead their life sciences business and channel strategy. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree from San Jose State University.
