Melissa Maxwell-Doherty

Melissa Maxwell-Doherty is currently the VP of Mission & Identity at California Lutheran University. Melissa has extensive experience in the insurance industry, having worked as a Business Insurance Advisor/Broker for both Teague Insurance Agency, Inc. and B&B Premier Insurance Solutions, Inc. Prior to their work in insurance, Melissa was employed at University College - Azusa Pacific University as a Marketing, Outreach, & Program Representative and at California State University-Channel Islands as a Corporate Outreach and Marketing Representative/Consultant. Melissa began their professional career at Chase as a Financial Services Representative.

At California Lutheran University, Melissa has held the positions of Director of HSI and DEIJ Initiatives and Assistant Director of Admissions and Coordinator of Multicultural Admission. In these roles, they have been responsible for developing and implementing programs and initiatives designed to support and promote diversity and inclusion on campus. Melissa is passionate about their work in this area and is committed to creating a more inclusive and equitable community for all.
