Ted Defrank

Ted DeFrank is an experienced leader in the biotechnology sector with a strong background in operations and executive management. Currently serving as a Board of Regents member at California Lutheran University since October 2022, DeFrank also contributes as a member of the Board of Directors for Just in Time for Foster Youth since July 2013. As President at Active Motif since April 2007, DeFrank specializes in life science research kits and antibodies for epigenetics. Prior roles include CEO of Assay Designs, President of Pierce Biotechnology, and COO of Invitrogen, along with serving as VP of Operations at Stratagene Cloning Systems. DeFrank holds a degree from UC San Diego, obtained between 1979 and 1983.
