Brad Pacheco

Trustee at California Museum

Brad Pacheco is Deputy Executive Officer for Communications & Stakeholder Relations at CalPERS. Since October of 2015, he has provided executive leadership and counsel to the Board and executive staff for the System’s functions of communications and stakeholder outreach, including oversight of external and internal communications, digital content and overall communications strategy for the organization’s websites, social media and media relations.

Previously, Pacheco served in a number of other leadership capacities at CalPERS, including Division Chief for Public Affairs, Assistant Chief, and media specialist for CalPERS investments and corporate governance programs. He joined CalPERS in November 1995 from the California Association of HMOs, where he served as Director of Communications.

He has also served on the public affairs task force for the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, where he developed and implemented communication strategies associated with the disaster response and recovery programs during the 1995 California floods. In 2014, he was recognized by the State Information Officers Council with a lifetime achievement award.

Pacheco received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Rhetoric and Communications from the University of California, Davis.
