Steve Schoenig

Steve Schoenig has a robust background in ecology and environmental science, currently serving as a Senior Scientist - Retired Annuitant at the California Wildlife Conservation Board since January 2019. In addition, Steve holds the position of Board Treasurer at the California Native Plant Society and is a member of the Board of Directors for the California Invasive Plant Council from 2000 to the present. Previously, Steve was Branch Chief of the Biogeographic Data Branch at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, overseeing critical programs such as the California Natural Diversity DataBase. Steve also served as an Environmental Program Manager in the same department and managed the Noxious Weed Program at the California Department of Food & Agriculture. Steve has held leadership roles, including President of Cal-IPC, and possesses degrees in Biostatistics and Ecology from the University of California, Davis, and Natural Resources from the University of California, Berkeley.
