Don Nielsen

Chief Operating Officer at National Nurses United

Don Nielsen currently serves as Chief Operating Officer and National Director of Administration at National Nurses United, a role held since March 2018. Prior to this, Don Nielsen was the Director of Government Relations at the California Nurses Association, where responsibilities included coordinating efforts for quality patient care and economic justice from June 2014 to March 2018. Earlier in Don Nielsen's career, extensive experience was gained as Legal Counsel and Director of Arbitrations for California Nurses Association/National Nurses United, providing legal support to registered nurses from May 1994 to June 2014. Don Nielsen began in labor law as an attorney at Bennett & Sharpe, Inc. and previously worked in various roles, including Regional Service Coordinator for the California Faculty Association and as a flight attendant and union official with Pan American World Airways. Don Nielsen holds a Doctor of Law degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from Brigham Young University and Western State University College of Law.
