Weiyu Zhang is a dedicated public health professional with extensive experience in policy development and community advocacy. Currently serving as Policy Director at California Pan-Ethnic Health Network since June 2019, Weiyu is focused on addressing health inequities and enhancing collaboration between public health sectors and grassroots organizations through innovative initiatives like the "Organizing for Public Health Leadership Academy." Previous roles include Associate Policy Director, where Weiyu led a significant policy research project on COVID relief funds, and Senior Community Advocacy Manager, co-authoring a report on community-based organizations' critical roles in California's pandemic response. Prior experience includes positions at Asian Americans Advancing Justice and the Center for the Pacific Asian Family, emphasizing outreach and support for marginalized communities. Weiyu holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

The California Pan-Ethnic Health Network (CPEHN) is a statewide health advocacy organization focused on closing racial and ethnic health disparities. Our mission is to promote and advocate for multicultural health equity through legislation, policy, and working alongside community-based organizations across the state. Founded in response to the 1992 uprisings in Los Angeles, CPEHN has been advocating for racial and ethnic health equity for almost 30 years. We work alongside policy makers, elected officials, and community-groups and allies to advocate for equity in our health care, mental health care, and oral health care delivery systems.
