Matt Sutton has had a diverse range of roles in government affairs and public policy. Matt started their career at AeA as the Manager of California State Government Affairs from 2000 to 2002. Matt then worked at the California Manufacturers & Technology Assoc. as the Policy Director for Tax, Technology & Corporate Counsel Issues from 2002 to 2008. Finally, they joined the California Restaurant Association, where they held the positions of Senior Legislative Director from 2008 to 2012 and Senior Vice President of Government Affairs & Public Policy from 2012 to present.

Matt Sutton has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics from Saint Mary's College of California. Matt also holds a Masters in Public Policy & Administration, although the specific start and end years for both of these degrees are not provided.
