Brian Chen

Brian Chen started their work experience as a Laboratory Intern at Berkeley Lab and The Joint BioEnergy Institute. Brian focused on researching and identifying strains of bacteria that produce cellulase for the manufacturing of biofuels. During this role, they gained various laboratory skills and presented their discoveries at a company meeting. Additionally, in 2023, Brian founded and became the President of the California Scholarship Federation. Brian also served as the Vice President of the Asian Student Association in the same year.

Brian Chen attended San Leandro High School from 2022 to 2025, where they acquired a High School Diploma with a focus on Physics and Biology. Prior to that, from 2021 to 2022, they attended Arroyo High School, obtaining another High School Diploma, this time with a concentration in Business Administration and Management. In addition to their education, Brian Chen also obtained a VITA/TCE Certification from the Internal Revenue Service in February 2023.
