Amanda Mackensen is an experienced scenic designer and educator currently serving as a Faculty Scenic Designer at California State University-Dominguez Hills since August 2020. In addition to this role, Amanda has been an instructor at Pomona College and a design teacher at California School of the Arts - San Gabriel Valley since 2018. Previous experience includes serving as a set designer and adjunct faculty member at Cypress College from August 2012 to December 2013, where Amanda designed sets, taught lab classes, and collaborated with students on set construction and painting. Amanda holds a Master of Fine Arts in Scenic Design from Penn State University and a Bachelor's Degree in Theatrical Production and Design from California State University, Fullerton, along with a background in Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design.

California School of the Arts – San Gabriel Valley (CSArts-SGV) is a public charter school that provides its students with a creative, challenging, and nurturing environment while offering a rigorous college-preparatory education and pre-professional arts conservatory training.
