Megan Mekjian has a diverse work experience in the education and performing arts sectors. Megan started their career as a Drama Specialist at Camp Yomawha in 2015 and later worked as a Drama Teacher at the YM & YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood. From 2014 to 2016, they served as a Musical Theatre Performance Teacher at Columbia Secondary School/SONYC, where they developed curriculum and taught students. Megan also worked as a Long Term Substitute Teacher at Columbia Secondary School, teaching English Language Arts, Philosophy, and Advisory. Megan has experience working with children and adolescents, as they served as a Drama Teacher at the East Harlem School at Exodus House. Megan has also worked as an Actor and Choreographer at The Schoolhouse Theater, playing the role of Ashley in "How to Bury a Saint" while also choreographing the show. Megan's dedication to education is evident in their involvement as a Teacher and Director/Choreographer at the California School of the Arts - San Gabriel Valley starting in 2017.
Megan Mekjian has a diverse education history. Megan obtained their Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Theatre from the Tisch School of the Arts/CAP 21, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, they completed their high school education and received a diploma in Music and Theatre from the Orange County School of the Arts from 2000 to 2006. Megan furthered their education by pursuing a Master's of Arts in Teaching with a Secondary English Teaching Credential from the USC Rossier School of Education, which they earned between 2014 and 2016.

California School of the Arts – San Gabriel Valley (CSArts-SGV) is a public charter school that provides its students with a creative, challenging, and nurturing environment while offering a rigorous college-preparatory education and pre-professional arts conservatory training.
