Alexis Obinna is a highly active professional with extensive experience in youth advocacy and community engagement. Currently serving as a Board Member on the Leadership Table for Regional Homeless Alignment alongside Mayor Karen Bass, Alexis also works as an Outreach Researcher at Next4You, focusing on health-related topics for foster youth. Other significant roles include Co-Chair of the Homeless Youth Forum of Los Angeles at the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, New Deal for Youth Changemaker at the Center for Law and Social Policy, and an Independent Consultant through Alexis Obinna Consulting. With a background that includes community advocacy, legislative advocacy, and experience as a small business owner, Alexis has consistently contributed to initiatives aimed at improving the lives of youth across various platforms. Educational credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from California State University, Los Angeles, complemented by studies at Los Angeles Valley College and Antelope Valley College.

California Youth Connection (CYC) is a youth led organization that develops leaders who empower each other and their communities to transform the foster care system through legislative and policy change. CYC promotes the participation of foster youth in policy development and legislative change to improve the foster care system and strives to improve social work practice and child welfare policy.
