Bert Pijls

Bert Pijls was appointed as Chair in July 2021. He joined Calisen in September 2017 as Chief Executive Officer, following a successful career in financial services and utilities spanning 30 years. Prior to joining Calisen he worked in the financial services industry as CEO of Hellenic Bank, Managing Director at Citibank and CEO of Egg Banking. In addition to his experience in the financial services industry, Bert worked in the energy sector as Managing Director for Customer Service and Commercial at British Gas/Centrica.Bert holds a B.B.A. from Nijenrode University in the Netherlands as well as a Masters in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona, United States.
