What does Legacy even mean?

That was the question novelist Elaine Stirling put to venture capitalist Erik Åkesson when he suggested co-writing a book on Legacy.

It took five months of video chats, with Elaine doing most of the listening and learning.

The result is CALISTA’S PARADOX, a combination business book and novella that explains Legacy in a way it has never been explained!

PART I, the novella, tells the story of Calista, a young woman who’s inherited her family’s 100-year-old gemstone business. She never wanted the business, doesn’t know what to do with it, and has nowhere to turn for help, until—

She meets The Consultant, one of the world’s few experts on Legacy issues, who happens to struggles with issues of his own.

The clock is ticking.

Calista and The Consultant will need Helpers of Extraordinary Means to overcome both their Legacy problems before it’s too late.

PART II, the Lessons, examines Legacy from a business perspective, using language that’s easy to understand. Erik and other contributing experts share high level insights from a variety of fields, including military, health care, aviation, and psychology.

CALISTA’S PARADOX makes ideal reading for students, start-ups, new hires, and everyone in the org chart from front line to C-suite.

Legacy affects all of us.

CALISTA’S PARADOX offers a fun and enlightening path toward solving it.
