Dominic Leblanc

Principal Concept Engineer at Callaway Golf

Dominic LeBlanc, M.Eng has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering, specifically focused on the development and manufacturing of composite materials. Dominic began their career as a Summer Undergraduate Researcher at McGill University, where they studied the permeability of various prepreg and the internal pressure in sandwich laminates during the curing process.

LeBlanc then gained experience as a Research Engineering Intern at the National Research Council Canada, further honing their research skills. Dominic continued their education at McGill University as a Graduate Student in the Structures and Composite Materials Laboratory, collaborating with industry partners and universities on a project centered around the manufacturing of aerospace complex parts using randomly-oriented strand thermoplastic composites. Their role involved investigating processing conditions and contributing to the manufacturing of a demonstrator part.

LeBlanc also held a Research and Technology Intern position at Pratt & Whitney Canada, where they focused on composite part feasibility in PWC engines, considering factors such as temperature, cost, manufacturing methods, and loading cases. Dominic also gained experience in material characterization engineering report writing and conducted Injection Moulding analysis using Moldex3D software.

LeBlanc further expanded their engineering skills as an Engineering Student at Bavaria Medizin Technologie, GmbH, and later joined Callaway Golf as a Concept Engineer. Dominic progressively advanced within the company, first serving as a Concept Engineer and then as a Senior Concept Engineer. Currently, LeBlanc holds the position of Principal Concept Engineer, leading research and development efforts to improve the performance of metal woods using their expertise in composite materials, manufacturing processes, and finite element analysis.

Overall, Dominic LeBlanc, M.Eng has gained extensive knowledge and experience in the development, manufacturing, and performance enhancement of composite materials in various engineering roles throughout their career.

Dominic LeBlanc, M.Eng completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) in Mechanical Engineering at McGill University from 2008 to 2012. Dominic then pursued their Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University from 2012 to 2014.
