Stefan Carlsson

Stefan Carlsson is a seasoned expert in clinical development and medicine, currently serving as the Head of Clinical Development for Liver Disease at Calliditas Therapeutics since April 2021. Prior to this role, Stefan held the position of Chief Medical Officer at Egetis Therapeutics AB from November 2017 to March 2021. A long tenure at AstraZeneca from September 1994 to October 2017 involved multiple leadership roles, including Global Clinical Lead and Medical Science Director for Early Clinical Cardiovascular (CV) programs. Stefan's academic foundation includes a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physiology, both obtained from the University of Gothenburg.
