Ian Horsburgh has over 20 years of work experience in the engineering field. Ian started their career at Agilent Technologies as a Manufacturing Engineer from September 2000 to February 2003. Ian then joined Xyratex as a Test Development Engineer in September 2005 and transitioned to the role of Senior Hardware Design Engineer in 2007. From September 2009 to December 2014, Ian worked at Seagate Technology as a Senior FPGA Design Engineer. Since January 2015, they have been employed at Calnex Solutions as a Principle FPGA Design Engineer. In this role, they are responsible for the design and architecture of FPGA's inside the Paragon NEO product, focusing on the design of Ethernet MACs and achieving deterministic latency.
Ian Horsburgh attended Heriot-Watt University from 1995 to 1999, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. From 2003 to 2005, they furthered their education at Stellenbosch University, earning a Master of Science in Engineering degree in Digital Design and VHDL.
