Calosense Health
Calosense Health was founded in 2020 with the goal of relieving pressure on healthcare providers and empowering bariatric patients to independently manage their health. Long-term success after bariatric surgery is dependent on a combination of complete lifestyle changes and life-long follow-up. In order to help achieve these goals, the Calosense team developed a hybrid approach combining personalized support, interactive treatment plans and advanced remote patient monitoring (RPM). The Calosense RPM device was the first ever designed specifically for bariatrics, tracking patient weight and behaviors from smart connected devices with customizable alert triggers and end-to-end patient journey management. For greatest effectiveness, Calosense determined that personalized support for the patient has to be proactive and start from their first clinic visit. But automated monitoring and hands-on professional care teams were just part of the Calosense solution for improved long-term healthcare. In order to ensure optimal clinical outcomes, Calosense collaborated with leading experts at Sheba Medical Center, one of the top 10 hospitals in the world, to design a customizable follow-up regimen for every stage of bariatric care. The company also sought to make their RPM services as convenient as possible for clinics by ensuring full reimbursement from healthcare insurers.
