Juan L.

Juan L. is a seasoned professional in the energy sector, currently serving as the Transmission Manager at Calpine since January 2024, where responsibilities include maintaining software for processing large datasets and enhancing the Uplan production cost model to support trading activities. Previously, Juan held various roles at the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) from December 2006 to January 2024, including Principal Advisor and Product Manager, overseeing capital project implementations and managing the MISO settlement system. Earlier roles at MISO also included Senior Advisor and Market Engineer, focusing on energy market projects and system testing. Juan began his career as an Engineer at the Nanjing Automation Research Institute from July 1991 to January 1998, specializing in transient stability research. Juan earned a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University and a BS in Automatic Control from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
